Misty graduated from La Vernia High School where she was a three-year varsity letterman and starter in volleyball as well as a four-year varsity letterman and starter for the softball team. She graduated number five in her class and continued her education and volleyball career at Schreiner University where she graduated magna cum laude with a BBA in Marketing. She was a four-year starter for the volleyball team and two-time captain and earned several academic honors. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
After graduating, she worked in marketing for a year before she earned her teaching certificate and became a high school teacher and coach. She is in her twelfth year of education and fourteenth year of coaching club volleyball. Misty has seen a variety of success in her coaching career including winning the Mizuno Cross Court Classic and being apart of several playoff qualifying teams. She also helped lead the Hallettsville Lady Brahma softball team to a state runner-up appearance in softball in 2019. She is currently the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Wimberley High School. She led Wimberley High School in her first year as their coach (2024) to the title of 4A State Champions. Previously she served as East Central HS Head Coach, Navarro HS Head Coach, and as an assistant at Harlan High School. Misty is extremely passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the game with all players.
Misty was awarded with two prestigious awards in the 24-25 School Year. 2024-25 THSCA Coach of the Year for Volleyball and 2024-2025 THSCA Overall Girls Coach of the Year out of all Girls HS Sports.
