Misty graduated from La Vernia High School where she was a three-year varsity letterman and starter in volleyball as well as a four-year varsity letterman and starter for the softball team. She graduated number five in her class and continued her education and volleyball career at Schreiner University where she graduated magna cum laude with a BBA in Marketing. She was a four-year starter for the volleyball team and two-time captain and earned several academic honors. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
After graduating, she worked in marketing for a year before she earned her teaching certificate and became a high school teacher and coach. She is in her tenth year of education and twelth year of coaching club volleyball. Misty has seen a variety of success in her coaching career including winning the Mizuno Cross Court Classic and being apart of several playoff qualifying teams. She also helped lead the Hallettsville Lady Brahma softball team to a state runner-up appearance in softball in 2019. She is currently the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at East Central High in San Antonio.  Previously she served as Navarro’s HS Head Coach, and as an assistant at Harlan High School. Misty is extremely passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the game with all players.
