Quick Facts
Coach Gonzales began playing volleyball in 7th grade and fell in love with the sport. At Schulenburg High School, she was a 4 year varsity starter and went on to be a 2-time all-state selection and was chosen to play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star game. She was also all-state in basketball and tennis, and a regional qualifier in track and field.
She continued her volleyball career at Indiana University-Indianapolis where she played outside hitter. After 2 years, she transferred to Texas A&M to finish her degree in journalism.
She began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Bastrop High School before taking over the program at Salado High School as their head coach. She led the program to its first back-to-back district titles and its first trip to the regional finals. Coach Gonzales was selected to coach the TGCA all-star game and then went on to coach at Temple High School, and most recently was an assistant at New Braunfels High School.
She took a break from volleyball to raise her two daughters and is currently teaching English at Canyon High School. She is so incredibly excited to be coaching again!
